Charles Xavier once told us: "Mutants...Born with extraordinary abilities, and yet still, they are children stumbling in the dark, searching for guidance. A gift can often be a curse. Give someone wings, and they may fly too close to the sun. Give them the power of prophecy, and they may live in fear of the future. Give them the greatest gift of all, powers beyond imagination, and they may think they are meant to rule the world."
Really, I think this sums up the world of the X-Men perfectly. Tom laughed at me earlier when I said I had seen most of the movies and had a general knowledge. He is a comic book buff, and knows more about the content the way it was meant to be.
Collector Corps, I think, is an interesting box. A bi-monthly subscription allows for fresh themes and fresh, bigger, better items. Each box, upon opening that first flap, has a collectible metal pin and a patch, each tieing in that particular theme. The pin, in all of its glossy glory, features a profile view of Magneto's helmet. And, the patch? A beautifully detailed portrait of Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm.

From the ashes of Civil War II arise the All-New, All-Different Champions. Sporting a classic name, they look to the future like no super team ever before, concerned with healing the deep rifts in the Marvel Universe and repairing the reputation of the super hero concept.
CHAMPIONS #1 boasts the reunited team of writer Mark Waid and artist Humberto Ramos, as well as an unprecedented group of the hottest Marvel teen heroes: Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Nova, the Hulk, Cyclops, and Viv Vision. The book will address topical issues that the creators hope will spur discussion and the place of youth activism in modern society
This particular version of that comic book features a Pop Vinyl variant cover, which each DC or Marvel Funko box offers. This one is of Cyclops, Scott Summers, with his beams protruding in almost a 3D fashion.

Rock Candy... I have always known this to be those delicious shards of flavored glasslike sugar, held together by a wooden stick with the little ball on the end. Well, not too long ago, Funko changed everything I once knew when they released their line of Rocky Candy Collectible Figures, bringing to life some of the most iconic female figures in the cutest way possible. Big, beautiful eyes..Pouty lips, glorious details. Originally meant to be a DC line, they have slowly started to expand. This Collector Corps exclusive is of Mystique.
Another interesting line from Funko is what are known as Pop Rides. Pop Vinyls along with some of the vehicles that are almost as famous as the people who own them. Ghostbusters and Ecto 1. The Harry Potter characters with pieces of The Hogwarts Express, Agent Coulson and Lola, Deadpool and his Chimichanga truck..and now...Wolverine and his motorcycle. I am just gonna say, Good Job Funko. The details on both Logan and the bike are too cool.
How cool would it be to say that you were a member of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters? Well, now, in a way, here is your chance. This bi-monthly shirt is a college style tee, sporting the famous school's logo, as well as the year being the year that the comic books were introduced. Wear it with pride.

Well, that is another box for the record books...well, blog records. Please join us next time! Until then....
